1 Falcons (from SD)
Michael Vick, QB, Virginia Tech
The Falcons traded the 5th, 67th
and a 2nd rounder from next year, along
with burning WR/KR Tim Dwight for
the chance to draft Vick. They might
rush him into duty too soon, but
you can't pass him up!
2 Cardinals
Garard Warren, DT, Florida
I think they're looking to trade
this pick, if they keep it, he's
their man. He's a huge body to
help clog the middle of the
field. Best run stuffing DT available.
Fills huge hole
on the Arizona D.
3 Browns
David Terrell, WR, Michigan
Best WR to come out in years. Has
all the tools.
Questions about his foot are disappearing.
The
Browns need offensive weapons and
he'll take over the
#1 WR spot nicely. Terrell will
compliment Kevin Johnson
very well and give Tim Couch another
weapon. LaDanian
Tomlinson is also a possibility
here.
4 Bengals
Justin Smith, DE, Missouri
The Bengals need help on D badly,
and Smith can step
right in and start. His motor never
stops running. He is big
and can rush the passer off the
edge well, however, he is
also strong against the run. If
the Bengals can't re-sign Corey
Dillon they may look at taking
one of the top 2 RB here.
5 Chargers
LaDanian Tomlinson, RB, TCU
The Chargers traded down with hopes
he'd still be here, and he is.
San Diego is very happy and can
go after a QB in the later rounds.
6 Patriots
Leonard Davis, OT, Texas
The Pats need a lot of help too,
and Davis will give them plenty.
He's the best OL in the draft and
will be a mainstay on the New
England line for many years.
7 Seahawks
Santana Moss, WR, Miami
After trading for QB Matt Hasselback,
Seattle
will look to give him
a target to throw to. Moss is a
play maker, and after his team workout
at Miami, his stock is on the rise!
He can also return punts and should
give the Seahawks a terrific offensive
weapon.
8 Bears
Duece McAllister, RB, Mississippi
The Bears need a RB, and Tomlinson
is already gone. They liked
Duece better anyway, and should
make people forget about Curtis Enis
and other 1st round flops for Chicago.
9 49ers Dan
Morgan, LB, Miami
This years' Brian Urlacher, Morgan
will team with last years
1st rounder Juilian Peterson out
of MSU to form an outstanding LB
corps for years. Impact player
that can step in and make a difference.
I have a feeling they will trade
this pick though, and the loss of Charllie
Garner, makes me wonder if they
might go RB.
10 Packers
Koren Robinson, WR, NC State
The Pack get a top WR here and
will give Favre a big fast target to throw
to for the rest of his career.
11 Panthers Steve
Huchinson, OG, Michigan
The Panthers may have gone after
Tomlinson here if he were still on the board
, but their OL was horrible last
year, and they'll get the best lineman on the board
here to help protect newly named
#1 QB Jeff Lewis some much
needed protection.
12 Rams (from KC) Andre
Carter, DE, California
A pass rushing specialist that
should be able to help right away.
He needs a little work on his run
stopping skills and he needs
to add some weight. (He's only
249 lbs) The Rams will bolster their
pathetic D with 3 1st round picks!
13 Jaguars
Kenyatta Walker, OT, Florida
The Jags had to release OT Leon
Searcy for salary cap reasons, and Walker should
step in and fill his shoes well.
He'll team with All World OT Tony Boselli to form
a great tandem of tackles for years
to come.
14 Bills Marcus
Stroud, DT, Georgia
Another salary cap casualty in
Ted Washington will push the Bills
to go after Stroud here. Big strong
DT, should be able to contribute
immediately.
15 Redskins
Freddie Mitchell, WR, UCLA
He has all the tools to be a star
at the next level, the question is can he
put it all together, and work hard
enough to succeed.
16 Steelers
Drew Brees, QB, Purdue
The Steelers still aren't sold
on Kordell Stewart, and Brees should take over
for "Slash" by opening day 2002.
Cowher has said Kordell is his man, for this year
but he never said anything about
next year.
17 Seahawks
Fred Smoot, CB. Mississippi St.
The Seahawks need help on D, and
after going offense with their
first pick, I think they'll take
the best corner on the board here.
Smoot has good size, and 4.45 speed,
and will fit nicely on the
opposite side of Shawn Springs.
18 Lions
Jamal Reynolds, DE, Florida State
He weighed in a little light at
the combine (249 lbs) but was up over 255 lbs at his
individual workout. The Lions need
a good play making End, especially if they don't
re-sign Tracy Scroggins. Drew Brees
is also a possibility here if he's around, because
I don't think that M & M are
as high on Charlie Batch as they say they are. If Steve Hutchinson
fell to them here, they would jump
at him. Another possibility is Jeff Backus, although they
could probably trade down a little
to get him. Another outside chance is they take RB Michael
Bennett of Wisconsin.
19 Jets
Chad Johnson, WR, Oregon St.
The J-E-T-S Jets need a big physical
receiver
with speed (who doesn't) to compliment
the midget
errrrrrrr Wayne Chrbet. The new
Johnson is that guy and
should be able to give the Jets
what they've lacked since
trading away Keyshawn to Tampa.
20 Rams
Damione Lewis, DT, Miami
The Rams need real help on D and
Lewis can step in and be
a force immediately. They traded
Franchise player Kevin
Carter and will use that pick for
help on D as well. If they can
sign recent roster cut Cortez Kennedy,
they will greatly
improve their chances to get back
to the Super Bowl.
21 Buccanneers
Jeff Backus, OT, Michigan
The Buccs need help on the OL and
Backus should
anchor that line for a decade.
22 Colts Jamar
Fletcher, CB, Wisconsin
The best cover corner in the draft,
and would have been a
top 10 pick if not for his size.
(5'9" 180)
23 Saints
Ken-Yon Rambo, WR, Ohio St.
The Saints need someone to stretch
the field opposite
Joe Horn. Rambo is their man.
24 Broncos
Ken Lucas, CB, Mississippi
Denver needs help on D and Lucas
is a big strong corner that covers
well, he should be a great fit
into the Broncos D.
25 Eagles
Rod Gardner, WR, Clemson
Philly has a big need for WR's
for Donovan McNabb to throw
to. They signed James Thrash away
from division rival Washington,
but they need more help than that.
Gardner will give them 2 bon fide
threats along with Staley and McNabb's
legs to put points on the board.
26 Dolphins
Maurice Williams, OT, Michigan
A big athletic lineman that fills
a need. Very versatile and can play
both Guard and Tackle.
27 Vikings
Michael Bennett, RB, Wisconsin
With Robert Smith's unexpected
retirement, the Vikes will take another
speedster here in Bennett to help
ease the pain.
28 Raiders
Derrick Gibson, S, Florida St.
Should help an already strong secondary,
and will provide great depth
for the Silver and Black D.
29 Rams Shaun
Rogers, DT, Texas
The Rams have Huge holes on the
DL, and will use both 1st round picks
to help improve that area. Other
options for this pick are CB Ken Lucas, or a surprise
pick in TE Todd Heap.
30 Giants
Todd Heap, TE, Arizona State
The G-Men could use a talented
TE, and Heap is a damn good one!
31 Ravens
Adam Archuleta, SS, Arizona State
As if the Ravens really need the
help on D! They do have a small hole or
two to take care of, and they signed
some good OL. No real impact players are
left on offense and this safety's
stock has been on the rise!
